How To Make This Slow Cooker Orange Chicken

Place the chicken, orange marmalade, orange juice, soy sauce, tomato paste, garlic, and ginger in your crockpot. Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 5-6 hours. At that time, remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred with two forks. Return the chicken to the slow cooker. Stir until combined and let it hang out for a bit so it can absorb the sauce. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired and serve.

Depending on how juicy your chicken is and how much liquid it gives off as it cooks, you might want to stir in a bit of corn starch to thicken the sauce up a bit. This is totally optional, and depends on your preference. Alternatively, you could leave it as is and serve the chicken with a slotted spoon to allow some of the excess liquid to drain off.

Serving Suggestions

My favorite way to serve this Slow Cooker Orange Chicken is with rice and sauteed green beans. You can also serve it as a filling in a sandwich or a wrap, or even as a topping on salad greens!

Storing And Freezing Instructions

This Slow Cooker Orange Chicken can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week. It can be reheated in the microwave, stovetop, or oven.

Additionally, it can also be frozen and reheated. I would suggest letting it thaw in your refrigerator overnight. Then, heat it up on your stove or in your oven.

When reheating in your oven, place your baking dish in a cold oven and allow it to come up to 350 degrees. By the time the oven reaches 350 degrees, it should be heated through without drying it out.
