Slow Cooker Orange Chicken

What's better than Chinese takeout? A healthier version that you can make at home that requires minimal effort! This Slow Cooker Orange Chicken is easy and delicious! The chicken practically melts in your mouth, and the orange sauce tastes fresh and vibrant.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup low sugar orange marmalade
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1- inch section of ginger minced
  • 1/8 cup corn starch
  • green onion and sesame seeds to garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Place the chicken, orange marmalade, orange juice, soy sauce, tomato paste, garlic, and ginger in a crockpot.
  • Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 5-6 hours.
  • At that time, remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred with two forks.
  • Return the chicken to the slow cooker.
  • Stir until combined and let it hang out for a bit so it can absorb the sauce.
  • If the sauce is too watery, stir in the corn starch to thicken it up a bit.
  • Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired and serve.
